The countdown is on! The new Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots go live on March 31, 2025! Here’s what you need to know:
Over the years, many versions of Caregiver programs have been designed to bring quality home care workers to Canada, thus ensuring better home care services for families and communities. To attract skilled caregivers to Canada, direct pathways to Permanent Residency have been created for applicants interested in working in Canada’s home care sector. The new pilots hope to build on the successes, and improve on the deficiencies, of the previous ones by providing:
One-step pathway to permanent residency without the requirement for Canadian work experience.
Reduced language and education requirements: a level CLB 4 for language and a high school diploma.
No Canadian work experience is required, and no need for an LMIA.
Job offer flexibility: job offer can be from private households or organizations (excluding recruitment or placement agencies).
This program will be opened in two phases. The first phase is for applicants already in Canada. The 2nd phase for international applicants will open later.

Are you eligible?
While full details of the program are not yet available, at minimum you will need to have the following ready to apply when it opens:
Language test results:
A minimum of a CLB 4 in an approved English or French test.
Education:
A minimum of a High School Diploma. For international qualifications, an Educational Credential Assessment will be required.
Work experience or related caregiver training credentials:
Proof of a minimum of 6 months of recent and relevant work experience OR a caregiver training credential
Job offer:
An eligible full-time (30 hours per week or more) job offer for home care.
A valid police clearance from every country where you have lived for more than 6 months in the past 10 years

Be ready and prepared!
These Pilots will have a specific allocation or target number of applications, and it is expected that they will reach the cap very quickly after opening. In the past, this allocation has been reached within minutes for some intakes.
To assist you with preparing and being successful, we have developed a package for professional guidance with the application process. This includes a detailed document list tailored to you and your family members, a one-on-one support session that will answer your questions and guide you in the right direction, a document check and feedback process, and a step-by-step guide to submitting your application.
It all starts with an online Caregiver Assessment Session to determine eligibility, and once eligibility is determined, the Caregiver Package becomes an option.

Thinking of Immigrating to Canada? Immigration all starts with eligibility, and until that is determined its very hard to say what will or what wont work for an applicant. As such it is vital for an Applicant to complete an Assessment, so that we can render a feedback report based on your profile and its viable options. That is the starting point of any discussions on your viable pathways to Canada. Click below to submit your assessment to learn about your options. |
